TOMTEC IS AN AWARDED GREAT PLACE TO WORK

The Munich based company specializes in software solutions for medical imaging and cardiac analysis.  On March 17, 2017 they received 13th place at the “Germany’s Best Employers 2017” competition.

The employees at TOMTEC IMAGING SYSTEMS GMBH enjoy going to work, which is one of the reasons the company received such a high honor. The category for which they competed was for companies with 50-500 employees.  Positive feedback was collected on topics such as trust in management, leadership, acknowledgement, identification, job development, team spirit, work-life-balance and healthcare. This is the fifth time TOMTEC has competed against other excellent German employers.

In 2017, the employees again stated in an anonymous independent study that TOMTEC is a “Great place to work.” 98% of all colleagues confirmed TOMTEC has a positive work atmosphere; and 95% would recommend TOMTEC as an employer. The executive board along with HR manager Gabriele Sonnemeyer appreciate the trust the employees have.  She stated, “The award confirms that our HR efforts reaches out to the employees and that everyone understands that they matter to us.  For us, workspace culture means: all colleagues are appreciated for who they are, not just on how well they perform.

The excellent atmosphere at TOMTEC contributes to the best output of product in terms of solutions and development. How does this provider of software solutions create an attractive work environment?

TOMTEC offers flat hierarchies to its employees and has an open door policy. The necessary team spirit is created through regular events that engage dialogue. TOMTEC organizes and finances numerous external activities such as festivals and team sporting events. Naturally, the work environment is modern, flexible and family friendly. In addition, a range of health activities are offered, including massages and yoga. Also, the employees much appreciate the possibility to individually configure a job-bike. Along with all of the mental work, a certain amount of fun should not be forgotten.

The independent feedback is an important landmark from both sides, internally and externally. Johannes Waldinger, CEO at TOMTEC, explains: “We are proud to be repeatedly awarded as one of Germany’s best employers. This proves that all, including recently hired colleagues, think positively about our workspace culture and are well integrated. We face this competition with pleasure and take our consecutive participation as benchmark on how we have improved in different sectors. In 2016, we renewed our philosophy ‘Excellence in Digital Healthcare’ and thus are very glad to see that the results confirm our motto. Again, we will take two years’ time to revise weaknesses that were pointed out by our staff and continue to expandour strengths.”
