TomTec Imaging Systems GmbH is the worldwide leader for 2D-, 3D- and 4D- solutions in the area of medical ultrasound and aims to be a worldwide leader in medical imaging software solutions.

The company was founded 1990 in Munich, Germany. After a merger phase with Freeland Systems / Prism Imaging (TomTec Imaging Systems Inc. 1993 - 1997), TomTec's headquarter was brought back to Germany from Boulder / USA by a management buy out. Since then, Ulrich Haupt (CEO & CFO), Bernhard Mumm (President & COO) and Frank Schlau (CMO) are representing the company's senior management. In August 2000, TomTec announced the 100% acquisition of it's former partner IVS - Individual Software GmbH, Fulda/Germany. The former general manager of IVS Holger Frank is now as Chief Visionary Officer (CVO) part of the senior management of TomTec Imaging Systems GmbH.
In 2009, Johannes Waldinger joined the senior management as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

TomTec's headquarters is in Unterschleissheim near Munich and a second branch is in Fulda. From the headquarters, with around 120 employees, TomTec supports its worldwide market and its network of dealers.

The North American market is handled by TomTec Corp., 100% owned by TomTec GmbH, with headquarters in Chicago

Since 1990, the company has developed as a pioneer in 3D/4D ultrasound, Stress Echo and Image Management technology. By offering "Add On" and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) solutions to all major ultrasound companies, TomTec has reached a leading position in its market. TomTec holds a leading position in driving innovations in the field of diagnostic medical imaging applications and also offers products for the Cardio PACS market. TomTec integrates its technology for routine clinical use into the medical device manufacturing products of our partners. The product line encompasses a wide range of 2D and 3D/4D technology for visualization, analysis, quantification and information-processing as well as for management of multimodality image data. TomTec’s products are applicable to the fields of adult and pediatric cardiology as well as obstetrics, gynecology, radiology, and vascular diagnostics.

Today TomTec is a strong OEM partner of the medical imaging industry and also of leading physicians for innovative technologies.
TomTec is a certified company according to EN ISO 9001:2008, EN ISO 13485:2003, as well as EN ISO 13485:2003 CMDR and to the Medical Device Directive 93/42 EEC inlcuding 2007/47 EC to ensure that it delivers reliable and medically safe quality products.

Since 2005 the company is completely owned by senior management and employees.
